I have decided after 21 years in private practice that is it time to follow a new path and move into the public sector. As many of you may know, the issues of teenage pregnancy, reproductive rights and access to birth control have always been close to my heart. My interest in devoting myself to these issues has become paramount in these past couple of years, and I have decided that it is time to “take the plunge.” I am not sure just where I will land yet, but I am sure I will find the right niche soon enough!
Currently, there are no other “gynecology only” practices to refer to in the area. For younger patients, I would recommend Amelie Chu, M.D. and Anne Gonzalez, M.D. Both are in my building (929 Gessner “the Tower”) in Suite 2100. Their office number is: 713-464-4111. For my slightly older patients, done with childbearing and seeking a practice strong in menopausal management, I recommend Ralph DeAyala, M.D. 902 Frostwood Suite 108. His office number is: 713-827-4744.
I wish I could thank each of you individually for enriching my life so fully. It has been an absolute pleasure and privilege to take care of and learn from each one of you.
Merrill Sue Lewen, M.D.
